Parents Turn To AI Stories To Get Children To Read

by | Jul 16, 2025 | News

A new app called Luna uses artificial intelligence to encourage children to read by creating personalized stories based on their responses to prompts. Created by three fathers amidst declining literacy rates, Luna aims to engage kids with tailored stories featuring their favorite things, like pets or toys.

It has faced criticism from authors like Joanne Harris, who warned that AI poses an “existential threat” to the publishing industry. However, founders Omar Bakhshi and Greg Findon insist the app complements traditional storytelling rather than replaces it.
