How I Lean on Faith When My Child Is Sick

by | Mar 25, 2026 | Spiritual Growth

How you can become a prophesy bearer for your child

There is something about seeing your child unwell that shakes you to the core.
As a mother, I know the feeling.
The helplessness.
The ache.
The silent prayers in the middle of the night.

But I’ve learned something very important in those moments: The enemy is not really attacking my child first. He is trying to shake me.
He whispers fear.
He tries to make me imagine the worst.
He wants my words to align with panic instead of faith.

There’s something my house of Faith, my Man and Woman of God have taught me: When a storm rises for example: when i see my child sick, this is not the time to crumble.
This is the time to stand.
I Carry Authority Over My Children. God entrusted my children to me. That means something.

Scripture says: “No weapon formed against you shall prosper.” (Isaiah 54:17)
I remind myself that no weapon formed against my children shall prosper. If I resist, the enemy must flee. Not maybe. Must. So, I gather myself. I guard my words.
Because I know:
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” (Proverbs 18:21)
If fear fills my mouth, fear will fill the atmosphere.
But if faith fills my mouth, faith will shift the atmosphere.

What I Declare

When my heart wants to panic, I declare instead:
“Father, this is not just my child — he is Yours.
You love him more than I ever could.
You already paid the highest price through Your Son.
Because of that sacrifice, I lay my child at Your feet – not in fear, but in confidence.
By the stripes Jesus bore, my child is healed.
Holy Spirit, take over.”
I don’t pray like someone begging.
I pray like a mother who knows she has been given authority.

Jesus said: “Behold, I give you authority… over all the power of the enemy.” (Luke 10:19)
So I use it. Clearing the Atmosphere. I have learned not just to treat symptoms, but to clear the atmosphere. I worship, I speak peace into the room, I drive away every disturbing spirit in Jesus’ name. I picture the sceptre of power in my hand. And I stand on it, not dramatically but firmly. And every time I stand instead of shaking, something shifts – first in me, then around my child.

To every mother reading this: You are not powerless.
You are not alone. And your faith matters more than you realize.
Because this is No Ordinary Parenting, ordinary parenting panics.
But we are called to parent from faith.
