Gov. Bill Lee Signs a statewide ‘Day of Prayer, Humility and Fasting’ for Tennessee

During an interview with CBN News in May of 2021, Lee was asked whether he thought unifying diplomacy in this time of deep political division required more forgiveness or more humility. “Humility, no doubt,” Lee said.                                                                                                                  “There is no other rescuer than the rescuing arm of Jesus Christ he added. 

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee has signed a proclamation dedicating Sept. 30, 2022, as a Day of Prayer, Humility and Fasting for the volunteer state. 

The declaration comes after Lee called for an investigation into Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s transgender health clinic on Sept. 21 in response to statements by conservative political commentator Matt Walsh.                                                                                                                 According to Walsh, he has met with Tennessee State Representative William Lamberth and Tennessee Senator Jack Johnson to craft a bill to ban gender-affirming care for minors in Tennessee.

Tennessee will become the first state in the nation to make surgical and medical “gender transitions” illegal for children.
