Have you ever felt overwhelmed by the demands of motherhood?

Like you’re drowning in a sea of endless to-dos and sleepless nights? Or maybe you’ve questioned your ability to be the kind of mother you want to be.

If so, you’re not alone.

But what if I told you that deep within you resides a powerful force – a fierce protector, a relentless advocate – A lioness!

The Bible says, “What a lioness was your mother among the lions!” ~Ezekiel 19:2

Can you imagine that? A strong, fearless woman, nurturing her cubs in the midst of a wild world. That’s the image God has for us as mothers.

If you look at motherhood with your natural eyes, it may seem tough, exhausting and loaded with expectations. But in the kingdom that we come from, it’s incredibly rewarding. It’s a calling, a sacred responsibility. And, it’s a battleground.

The enemy knows the power of a mother, especially a believing and praying one. That’s why he wants to weaken us, to convince us that our children are a burden.

The enemy hates children because they are a gift from God. And, the enemy hates mothers because it was through the faith and obedience of a ‘mother’ that Jesus, the Son of God was born. That’s why, watch out! If the enemy can convince a mother that children are a burden, he can stop her from functioning like a lioness in this dark world that is preying on children.

One less woman knowing who she really is and what she is capable of.

One less woman set on fire to save a generation.

One less lioness raising up her cubs to be strong young lion.

Invitation from God

God invites us daughters in Ezekiel 19:2 to awaken the sleeping lioness inside each of us and rise as courageous mothers that God has called us to be.

There is no love as fearless, fierce, and forever as a mother’s protection.

Proclaim, “In Jesus’ name the enemy cannot have my marriage, my family, or my womb. My marriage is not a burden. My children are not a burden. Any work the Lord has given me is a blessing and inheritance from Him.”

God did not save you to tame you, but to awaken the lioness inside of you. The glory of God is a woman made fully alive, whose eyes have been opened to the reality of who she really is. The Lion of Judah’s roar is an exulting cry for a woman to take over her Promised Land and dare to realize all she was created to be. And, a call to courageously raise other strong young lions and lionesses who do the same.

Never let the enemy steal God’s plan for you or make you discount the power you have been given.

This is not the time to draw back from truth and godliness. It is the time for bold faith in love and action. A lioness does not concern herself with the opinions of sheep. A queen does not bow to anyone except her one true King.
