Mobile Phone Ban at Davidson High School in Australia Produces Dramatic Behavioral Results

A Sydney high school has seen a dramatic decrease in behavioural issues and a boost in physical activity and students talking to each other just two months after it tightened restrictions on mobile phone usage.
School Administrator states, “It’s just crazy the difference we’ve seen … I’m just really happy with the positive impact that it’s had.”
“At a time when mental health is of such a concern amongst our young people, our school community saw the phone as a significant and negative contributor to student wellbeing,” he said.
Reviews by students after mobile phones bans –
Girl Student: “Now you go to the library, and there’s people playing board games and a lot more conversations about what you did on the weekend and all about each other.”
Boy Student: “I feel like there’s a lot of difference around the school now with some of the kids who found it a bit more hard to socialize.”
The mobile phones hindered students in years 7 to 10 were banned from using mobile phones at school as learning and focus in classrooms has stunted their emotional and social intelligence.
