Mumbai & Maharashtra Eateries Drop Artificial Food Dyes Amid FDA Crackdown

Eateries across Mumbai and Maharashtra are dropping bright artificial red and pink dyes from popular foods such as chicken lollipops, Manchurian and cotton candy following intensified surprise inspections by the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The inspections are targeting unauthorised chemical additives and poor kitchen hygiene.
For parents, this is a reminder to be mindful of brightly coloured foods, particularly those sold by roadside vendors and eateries where hygiene may be difficult to assess. Since children are naturally drawn to bright colours, parents can help them understand that attractive-looking food is not always safe or healthy and encourage them to choose freshly prepared food from clean, trusted outlets.
At No Ordinary Parenting, we believe these everyday moments can become opportunities to teach children wisdom and discernment, helping them make intentional choices about what they eat and care for their minds and bodies.
